NW WOMEN RHYTHM & BLUES
Saturday, Aug. 20 is the date for the NW Women Rhythm & Blues extravaganza. Blues artist Sonny Hess proudly presents this spectacular show as part of the Riverside Concert Series at the Port of Camas/Washougal, 6-8 p.m. The location is the beautiful setting of the Port of Camas/Washougal lawns, overlooking the scenic Columbia River. As a wonderful family affair, you can bring a blanket, have a picnic and enjoy. With free admission, this concert is sponsored by the Cities of Camas and Washougal and the Port of Camas/Washougal. Once again, Hess has put together an exciting combination of considerable talent from the Portland/Seattle areas. This show has a mixture of different styles of R&B, with performers ages ranging from the early 20s to 50ish. Experience this high wattage line up: Sonny Smokin’ Hess, is the backbone of these productions, on lead guitar and vocals. She is noted as one of the best female guitar players in the region, with her soulful, sultry guitar licks. She is winner of a Muddy Award for the Best Blues Show Ever Produced. Lisa Mann, on bass and vocals was awarded the Best Blues Guitarist by the Cascade Blues Assoc. A force to be reckoned with, Tracy Ferrara on saxophone will surely sooth your soul. Kelly Pierce on drums will keep your toes tapping and fingers snappin’. The hottest blues Diva recently in the area, “Lady Kat” sings her sassy lyrics. Vocalist Megan James sizzles and shakes up the stage. With spirited Brandi Hess, you’ll love her energetic and powerful vocals. Unforgettable Kimberly Yvonne Hall will please your senses with her incredible voice. The energy of Bonnie Lee Bluestone on keyboards will have you dancing in your seat.
