Nico’s and Unique Entertainment
There’s a buzz going around about this area’s Karaoke
scene the last few months. It’s all about Nico’s Karaoke
Pony and Unique Entertainment joining forces in January and moving
under one roof! They are now located at 16641 S.E. 82nd Drive in Clackamas,
suite 201, above the General Store and next to the Tombstone Music
Store.
Nico’s Karaoke Pony is still Oregon’s premiere Karaoke
retail store and continues to offer a wide variety of Karaoke commercial
and home products, including CDGs and software, Karaoke system sales
and rentals, installations, consultations and system design. It’s
been said, “If you can’t find it anywhere else, try Nico’s!” The
Karaoke Pony has been in business for nine years in the Sellwood area,
so there’s no questioning its expertise and experience. How could
this pony possibly get any better?
Greg Swain and Dean Cramer, owners of Unique Entertainment, have also
been around the Karaoke scene for some time, providing high quality,
24/7 sound and lighting equipment setups and engineering expertise.

The blending and expansion of these two great businesses and their
move to a new location that provides the opportunity to expand will

contests that award talented novices free recording sessions and the
opportunity to work with experienced entertainers in a rehearsed show
format.
The new recording studio at Nico’s Karaoke Pony and Unique Entertainment
is engineered by Phil Vance, one of the finest sound technicians around.
He holds degrees in computer science, and he’s worked sound for
the last eight years with state-of-the-art equipment, engineering recorded
productions with such groups as Pioneers of the Mississippi, Montel
Jordon and Survivor. Vance is also a musician and loves any challenge;
his mission is to support an artist’s goal of achieving the best
quality of sound possible. He’s really easy and fun to work with
and his patience, knowledge and skill are legendary!
Vance constructed the new studio at Nico’s Karaoke Pony for Unique
Entertainment with top-of-the-line equipment and software so that full
bands, solo acts and whatever comes along can be professionally recorded
at a reasonable cost. The studio is loaded: 128 total tract digital,
10 tracks simo, DBX outboard, DB (all) Waves and Antares plug-ins (all),
TC and Time works (all), reverb X, Normad Factory, Drumgog, Purrfect
giga drums, OHM Force, Steinberg (all) – and the list goes on.
This is a professional’s space that includes a roomy sound booth
and the engineering expertise needed to produce quality sound.
